Our evidence here is our own clinical study of our liquid marine collagen, in which imaging showed a visible reduction in spots, pigmentation and redness.
- Who and how long. 10 women drank it daily for 8 weeks, with skin imaging before and after.
- What changed in the images. Spots, pigmentation and redness were visibly reduced, and skin texture improved.
- What you can check. The cheek imaging pair from that study is printed on this page.
of the 106 women in our user trial felt the appearance of their skin improved after 8 weeks of our liquid marine collagen.
- 89%reported more moisture and glow
- 87%noticed fewer fine lines and wrinkles

Does collagen help uneven skin tone?
Our own clinical study points to yes: after 8 weeks of our liquid marine collagen, imaging showed a visible reduction in spots, pigmentation and redness, and improved skin texture.1
The rest of the page builds on that finding. The study put spots, pigmentation and redness under a camera, and what follows explains the study, shows you a picture from it, and adds what a larger group of women said about their skin in the mirror.
What was the clinical study?
The clinical study was a small imaging study in which 10 women took our liquid marine collagen every day for 8 weeks, with their skin analysed by imaging before and after.1
- Who. 10 women.
- What they took. Our liquid marine collagen, daily.
- How long. 8 weeks.
- How the change was recorded. Skin imaging before and after.
With imaging, a before image and an after image of one cheek can sit side by side. The study sits beside a second, larger one, and how our collagen is tested sets out the pair in full.
What did the imaging show?
After 8 weeks of daily intake, the imaging showed a visible reduction in spots, pigmentation, redness and wrinkles, and improved skin texture.1
What the skin imaging showed after 8 weeks
Clinical study of our liquid marine collagen: 10 women, daily intake, imaging before and after.
| What was imaged | What the imaging showed |
|---|---|
| Spots | A visible reduction |
| Pigmentation | A visible reduction |
| Redness | A visible reduction |
| Skin texture | Improved |
| Eye wrinkles and forehead wrinkles | A visible reduction |
The study produced pictures as well as findings. The pair below is the cheek image from it, labelled before and after. Look at the left half first, then the right.

The imaging showed a visible reduction in spots, pigmentation and redness over the same 8 weeks, with improved skin texture alongside.1
The same study also produced eye and forehead images. You can see every pair together on our collagen before and after page.

In a separate 8-week user trial, 95% of 106 women felt the appearance of their skin improved, and 89% reported more moisture and glow. They took our liquid marine collagen daily and then answered questions about what they had noticed.1
The user trial asked about appearance, moisture and glow. Those answers are shares of the 106 women, and each keeps the verb the women responded to.

Of the 106 women, 95% felt the appearance of their skin had improved.1
Women in that trial were photographed too, and two of the pairs are below.

On timing, the trial has one general reading for you. The women reported visible results in as little as 4 weeks, with further improvement by week 8.1 That reading covers the trial as a whole.
What have women written about their skin?
Women have written about glowier, more even and more radiant skin on marine collagen, and a buyer of ours can see visible changes in her skin. Two published first-person accounts follow, with that buyer's review.
“To my surprise, these worked.”
After around six months on 10,000 mg of marine collagen a day she reported glowier, more even skin that held on to hydration for longer.

Read the cards as four separate statements. The first two name skin, and the last two name cells in general, which is the list's own choice of word. The NRV percentages on the cards are from the product specification, and NRV is a labelling reference.1
Vitamin C is at home in skin. A 2017 review of vitamin C in skin compiled published tissue measurements, and the authors reported about 6 to 64 mg per 100 g wet weight in the epidermis and about 3 to 13 mg per 100 g in the dermis.5 Those are ranges for human skin in general. Our page on antioxidants for skin takes the cell-protection wording further.
