What does collagen before and after look like?
Before and after photos from two 8-week studies of our liquid marine collagen show women's skin, hair and nails, and imaging that found a visible reduction in eye wrinkles, forehead wrinkles, spots, pigmentation and redness. In the first, 106 women took it daily for 8 weeks and reported what they noticed. In the second, 10 women took it daily for 8 weeks and had their skin analysed with imaging at the start and at the end.1
The pairs from both studies are gathered below. Each group below opens with a line on what is in the frame, and each caption names the study the pair belongs to. Where the user trial recorded a figure for that area, you will find it under the photo. Look at the left half, then the right, and make up your own mind.
Skin before and after 8 weeks
After 8 weeks of our liquid marine collagen, 95% of the 106 women in its user trial felt the appearance of their skin improved. The four pairs below are close crops of the face: a cheek and eye area, a face in profile, the skin under an eye, and a smile line beside the mouth. All are participants in the 8-week user trial of our liquid marine collagen.1

The figures under the photos belong to the whole group of 106 women, not to the woman in the picture. They tell you how many participants gave that answer after 8 weeks. If lines are the detail you care about most, our article on collagen for fine lines and wrinkles goes deeper.
Hair before and after 8 weeks
After 8 weeks, 86% of the women in the user trial reported healthier hair, and the one pair shown here is a close view of a woman's hairline, before and after.1

Nails before and after 8 weeks
After 8 weeks, 76% of the women in the user trial reported stronger nails. The two pairs shown here are close views of fingernails, before and after the 8-week trial, and nails make a handy marker, because you look at your own hands all day.1

What did skin imaging show?
Skin imaging showed a visible reduction in eye wrinkles, forehead wrinkles, spots, pigmentation and redness, and improved skin texture, in a clinical study of 10 women who took our liquid marine collagen daily for 8 weeks. Their skin was analysed with imaging before and after, which swapped opinions for a camera.1
Three imaging pairs are shown here: the eye area, the forehead and the cheek. On the two wrinkle images, the lines picked up by the analysis are drawn in green, which makes the two halves easy to compare.

What did the 106 women report in numbers?
After 8 weeks of taking our liquid marine collagen daily, 95% of the 106 women in the user trial felt the appearance of their skin improved, 89% reported more moisture and glow, 86% reported healthier hair and 76% reported stronger nails. What did published trials measure at 8 weeks?
Three published placebo-controlled trials that took readings at 8 weeks recorded eye-wrinkle volume about 20% lower than placebo, significantly improved skin hydration and significantly better skin elasticity in their collagen groups. None of them tested our drink, so read them as background to the pictures above.
Eye-wrinkle volume about 20% lower than placebo
The collagen group took 2.5 g of collagen peptides a day. Their eye-wrinkle volume was significantly lower than placebo at week 4 and again at week 8, by about 20%.2

What do women say in their own words?
In the accounts below, a beauty editor writes that her fine lines softened over three months of daily marine collagen, and two verified buyers of our liquid marine collagen describe visible changes in their skin and nails. A photo cannot tell you how skin feels, which is why these accounts are here.
“The fine lines have definitely softened.”
She took marine collagen daily for three months. Her skin felt softer and smoother from the first month, then plumper and glowier.
